Fundraising- a lot of it
Hello everyone! I am the first to type out a blog other then Dalen, lol. After finding out about going to worlds we have worked non-stop on fundraising. We started a Gofundme (www.gofundme.com/f/send-team-asap-to-worlds GO DONATE! please :) ) After the Gofundme we moved on to trying to get more sponsors! (Thank you to our sponsors for giving us money lol, and supporting us) Last night we put on a fundraiser night were we sold fry bread and baked goods. Along with that we had entertainment from Me (indigenous hoop dancing), My brother (also indigenous hoop dancing), My cousin (indigenous Fancy dancing), My sister (indigenous jingle dress dancing), My brothers band Abracadabra, and singers from my school! (thank you guys for singing for us!) This event was very successful, thank you everyone for supporting us and coming to this event! Now this we have planed a bottle drive to raise even more money! Thank you everyone for supporting us! (Again lol)
This is Cyrus signing off! have a good day, thanks for reading!
Also my favorite color is green :)

WORLDS!
We won Provs, baby! Lets go! TBH I didn't actually think we could do it, but I'm not going to complain. We partnered with our new friends the Hyper Droids (who were kind enough [not to mention smart 😉] to to pick us for their alliance) to pull off the awesome feat. We also got the Inspire award! This was also unexpected to some of us (me included), but a great honor. Because of these two things, winning and the Inspire award, we qualified to be one of three teams from Alberta to go to Houston, Texas for Worlds. This is just a little bit exciting. We did the math, and the amount of money required to send us all to worlds is... a bit. Like, buy-a-car bit. Therefore, considering that going into Provs we were broke as a team... We will be very busy fundraising. But that's just hard work. We can do that. We also have a bunch of work to to in other arias, like making the robot better (we have some bugs to squish in upgrades we have lined up for our robots code), packaging the robot (the idea of our precious baby going through airport baggage handling... It makes me cringe. It also reminds me of a story: see this Wikipedia article for details), getting new T-shirts to show off (hopefully) our amazing new sponsors, etc. Overall, we are very excited to go to worlds and have a blast. Sorry for my rambling here, this isn't very well structured (but then, none of these posts are lol). Someone else might post something else here as well. Thanks for reading!

We won our zone tournament, and are ranked 1st in Alberta!
Additionally, we (at the time I'm writing this) are ranked 281st in the world. We also got the inspire award. This might be a short post here. Uh, we didn't lose any games at the zone meet. That was good. Our autonomous kind of misbehaved, because, well, it's a long story. We *might* have left the only computer with the autonomous code on it behind, and because our practice field isn't quite the same as the game ones. By the time we had the computer with the autonomous code, the time after inspection but before matches started (the "get things working" time) was over. This meant that we had only the time in between matches to tune our code. We had gotten 3 out of 4 sample s working, when we, brilliantly, decided to switch practice fields. Apparently, the new practice field wasn't quite set up right, so when we got things working on it they didn't work on the real game fields. We switched back to the other practice field, but we only had time to fix things and make it get 3 out of 4 samples. This was annoying, because in practice back at home our autonomous was working perfectly, and very reliably. Next time, we won't forget that compter, and will have enough time to tune sample locations before we play. 😅 Another shenanigan, we may have dropped the robot onto pavement the night before the competition. It didn't look great. But some late night repair work and quick 3d printing saved the robot. It was non ideal. Overall, though, we are excited for Provincials, and hope to make it to worlds. See Ya.

Our second meet went well, we are ranked 1st in our division and 4th in the provence!
Overall, this second meet of the season went well, as I stated above. It was a good testing ground for the improvements we made in the two weeks after our first meet, and helped us refine our plans and ideas even more. What else is there to say? We won all our games at the meet, with the help (of course) of our alliance partners. Unfortunately, we didn't have any "perfect" games, with something always gong at least a little bit wrong. A couple of games, we were disabled mid-game by a misaligned secondary (output) claw dropping he sample into the robot. (You aren't allowed to control more than one game piece at once, so having one stuck in the robot? Not good). In other games our autonomous missed scoring a specimen on the rung. (Btw, we now have an autonomous! It can currently score two specimens on the high rung, and park, giving us either 43 or 46 points [still haven't figured out which it is myself]. This will be improved by next meet). Some other small stuff went wrong, like loose slide belts, and some other stuff I can't think of right now. Overall, though, the meet went well. Did you actually read all that? Wow. I'm impressed.

We got placed 3rd in the first division meet this season, and are currently ranked 1st in our division!
We had a... silly issue in our first game this last competition (the first league meet for us this season). Because of this issue, we were not able to score any points. This was too bad, because it was the only game in which we were in the same alliance as Raybotics, the other team in our community. We lost that first game. Other than this, we had a great meet. We won all of the five other games we played, which was nice. We, with some help from our ally, got the event high score one game. We then beat our own event high score (with help from our ally, of course). And then matched it. We are very busy getting Roadrunner to work before next competition (the seventh), as well as doing the myriad of other thing we need to do before then. If you are actually reading this, wow. Just wow. I am impressed. I hope by the end of this next meet we have equally good news. Bye.
